Riverside County Artscape Exhibition

The Riverside County Administration Center Annex opened in late 2001. Its finer features include a five-story atrium and a state-of-the-art Board of Supervisors' meeting chambers. The Annex also houses the offices of the Board of Supervisors and the Riverside County Executive Office. The Annex's circular design transformed a glass tower into a beautiful piece of diverse architecture. The building's curves, melded with the tower's right angles, create a stunning new look that neither building could have on its own. Inside, the Atrium offers a perfect exhibition hall for local artists.

The ongoing Artscape exhibition at the County Administration Center is coordinated by the Riverside Arts Council as part of its Art in Public Places program. The bi-annual exhibits are designed to showcase the unique and inspiring aspects of life in Riverside County. The artwork featured can be found in the main lobby, Executive Offices and the Board of Supervisors lobby. The purpose of the Artscape exhibition is to show the wide range of talented artists found within Riverside County and to illustrate how art can be inter-woven into our daily lives. The Art in Public Places program is dedicated to taking art out of the museum and placing it where people can view it on a regular basis.

The artists featured come from a variety of backgrounds, and are representative of the diversity found within the Inland Empire's population. The mission of the Riverside Arts Council is to promote, develop, support and sustain the arts. Since 1977 the Arts Council has provided visual and performing arts programs, services, education and outreach to citizens of all ages in communities throughout the County of Riverside.

The Riverside Arts Council would like to thank the Riverside County Board of Supervisors for making this project possible.
